Welcoming New City College to the Scalpel
As part of our commitment to developing the next generation of construction pioneers we arranged a site visit for students of New City College, one of the largest colleges in East London with campuses in Hackney, Tower Hamlets and Redbridge.
The students were invited to take a walk around our live fit out project for National Australia Bank, in what will be their brand new UK HQ at the iconic Scalpel in the City of London.
Once kitted up, the students were taken on a guided tour around site and given the opportunity to speak to our experienced teams across all trades, an invaluable experience at this stage in their academic careers.
Jill Nathan, Industry Placements and Work Experience Manager at New City College said of the day:
I just wanted to say a huge thank you on behalf of New City College and our students for the fantastic visit we had to your site at The Scalpel this morning. As I said to you, interventions like this in our student experience enrich their curriculum and are aspirational. The opportunity to speak with Industry professionals and walk round a live site was great. We hope to continue this dialogue with you, with the possibility of more visits to see progress on the site. The students were full of it on the way back!
And Paul Davis, Senior Project Manager at Charles Edward added:
It was great to have the students on site and answer the really good questions they had for us. They seemed really engaged and we hope to continue our relationship with New City College on this project and others, as part of our commitment to provide opportunities and inspiration to the next generation.
